The Exhibit Visitors Take Home

A photo booth for museums turns the final stop of a visit into a keepsake people actually want. We place a genuine enclosed walk-in booth at your museum free of charge, handle every bit of upkeep, and pay you a share of each session it runs.

What changes

The last gallery visitors never forget

Museums spend months building exhibits that people experience for an hour, and then most of that wonder evaporates in the parking lot. A booth near the exit catches visitors while they still feel inspired and gives them something to hold.

  • Exhibit tie-ins. Fresh from the dinosaur hall, families bare their teeth for the camera. After the space gallery, kids float like astronauts on the bench. The strip becomes their own little exhibit label.
  • Field trips. Chaperones get a reliable gathering point while students take turns behind the curtain, howling at each other’s poses.
  • Members’ nights. Evening events with wine and live music feel more like a party with a booth in the atrium. Members bring friends through, and the strip nudges everyone back for the next opening.
  • The gift shop exit. Not everyone buys a mug or a magnet. A strip with your museum’s name on it works as a souvenir at any age, and it lands on a fridge where the whole family sees it.
  • Return visits. Couples and families come back for the next show and take another strip, slowly building a collection of their visits.

We wrote more on how this plays out in our museum photo booth article.

Budget impact

None. We take care of the booth, delivery, installation, paper, every repair and the insurance. Your museum offers a small corner near an outlet.

New revenue line

Between 10% and 25% of each session goes to your museum, a figure agreed in writing up front. We pay on the 1st monthly and include a sales report.

Zero long-term risk

Our standard agreement lasts a year and begins with a 90-day trial. Unhappy at the end of it? We take the booth away and you pay nothing.

How it fits

Near the exit, the atrium or the shop

The best home for a photo booth for museums is the atrium, the hallway leading to the gift shop, or the space just outside a major exhibit. Budget a 5 x 5 ft patch of floor with an outlet nearby. The enclosed cabinet keeps its flash behind a curtain, so it never competes with gallery lighting, and it rolls on casters if you reconfigure for a new show. Visitors tap a card or phone to start, choose color or black and white, and collect two strips in about 90 seconds, along with a QR code that sends the digital version to their phones. Your visitor services team never operates it or handles payments. We monitor it remotely, restock paper and normally have a local crew on site that same day if anything goes wrong.

Museums would be new territory for us, and we like that. Right now SmileMore runs one live booth on the NSU campus in Davie. In its first month it sold 300-plus sessions and took in roughly $2,400, boosted heavily by move-in week. A campus is not a museum, but the reaction there (people asking whether it was permanent, praising the camera and the print speed) is the reaction you want in your atrium.

Best spot

On the path toward the gift shop, where visitors slow down, regroup and think about what they want to remember from the day.

Busiest moment

Weekday mornings in field trip season, weekend afternoons when families cover every gallery, and any evening members’ event.

Make it yours

The cabinet carries your museum’s colors and logo. Each strip prints your name too, so every one becomes a small piece of your brand.

Questions from museums

We wrap it in your colors and logo so it looks intentional. Placed near the shop or the atrium, outside the galleries, it reads as part of the visit rather than a distraction from the art.

Yes. Students pay with a card or phone, usually with a chaperone nearby. Four poses and two strips take about 90 seconds, so groups move through quickly.

The flash fires inside the enclosed booth behind a curtain. Nothing spills into the galleries, and we place it outside exhibit spaces anyway.

It costs your museum nothing and pays a monthly share of sessions, which can quietly support programs. The exact rate goes in writing, so it is easy to bring to your board.
