Host a booth / Live Music Venues

For live music venues

The Opener Before the Opener

A concert venue photo booth gives fans something to do in the lobby besides stare at their phones until doors. We put a real curtained booth in your space, wrap it in your venue’s look and keep it running. Hosting is free, and you get a cut of every strip.

What changes

Fans get a souvenir that outlasts the setlist

Concert nights run on anticipation. People show up early, hover by the merch table and kill time until the lights drop. A booth gives that energy somewhere to go. Friends in matching band tees squeeze in for four frames, and the strip comes out looking like a ticket stub they actually want to keep. Years later it is the thing wedged in a mirror frame that proves they were there.

  • Before doors. The early crowd has twenty minutes to burn, and a booth glowing across the lobby is impossible to ignore.
  • Between sets. Changeover becomes a reason to rush the booth instead of the bathroom line.
  • Merch line spillover. Fans clutching a new poster duck in for a strip to match it.
  • Tribute and theme nights. Costumes, glitter and eighties hair all look better in black and white.
  • After the encore. Groups who do not want the night to end make one last stop before the parking lot.

Thanks to the QR code, the shot hits their story before they even reach the car.

What it costs

Not a dime. The cabinet, installation, every paper roll, insurance and any fixes are on us. Your production crew already has enough cables to worry about.

What you take home

Your venue banks a 10% to 25% slice of each session, agreed in writing before signing. On the 1st of every month you get paid, with a sales report attached.

If the crowd ignores it

We sign for 12 months, but the opening 90 days are a trial. If it is not landing with your audience, we come get it and you pay nothing.

How it fits

Fits the lobby, skips the stage

The sweet spot is the lobby or the bar area outside the main room, near merch but clear of the entry line. Give it a 5 x 5 ft square of floor and one standard outlet. The cabinet sits on casters, so you can shift it for a sold-out show with a long queue. Fans pay with a card or a phone tap at the booth, your bartenders stay behind the bar, and nobody on staff touches the money. We track it remotely, refill paper and dispatch a local tech who generally sorts out issues the day they happen. A concert venue photo booth basically runs itself. Want more ways to fill the room? Our bar promotion ideas carry over well to show nights.

Honest disclosure: no music venue has one of our booths yet. The only booth we operate today is inside a university student center, where it logged over 300 paid sessions in month one, boosted by move-in week. A sold-out show is a whole other level of crowd, so somebody gets to be the first stage in South Florida with one. Why not yours?

Best spot

Next to the merch table. Fans already linger there, and a fresh strip pairs nicely with a new tour shirt.

Busiest moment

The changeover between the opener and the headliner, when the room has twenty restless minutes and a drink in hand.

Make it yours

Wrap the cabinet in your venue’s art and logo. Your name lands on every strip, and each one reads like a backstage pass to your room.

Questions from live music venues

It is an enclosed cabinet that we insure, so damage is our problem, not yours. We watch it remotely, and a local technician generally gets repairs done that same day.

Yes. Push it to a different corner or out of the room entirely, since it glides on casters through any normal door. Wherever it ends up, it needs one standard outlet.

Yes. Four poses later, two strips drop out of the printer in about a minute and a half, and a QR code pops up for the digital file. Fans who tag @smilemore.photobooth may get featured on our Instagram.

Fill out the host application with your capacity, show calendar and lobby layout. We review crowds and floor space before committing, and only book a handful of venues at a time.
