Local guide

Where a booth fits in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale nights spread out more than Miami’s. Las Olas Boulevard and the riverfront pull the after-dinner crowd, Flagler Village and the FAT Village arts district draw a younger mix on weekends, and Wilton Manors has its own strip of bars a few minutes north. Most of that foot traffic passes rooms where a photo booth would get used every night, which is exactly why there are so few: nobody has put them there yet.

West of I-95 the picture changes. Davie, Plantation and Weston run on campuses, malls and family spots, and that is where SmileMore started. Our first booth went into NSU’s Don Taft University Center, where students, parents and visitors use it between classes and events.

If you are hunting for a booth this weekend, start with the list above and check hours before you drive. If you are planning an event, a rental puts the same enclosed booth in your venue for the night. And if you run a spot on Las Olas, in Flagler Village or near the beach, the corner by your entrance could be the city’s next walk-in booth.

What a session costs

Expect about $5 to $10 for a strip at a walk-in booth. SmileMore’s NSU booth is $7.99 for two strips, paid by card or tap.

How to spot a real booth

A curtain or enclosure, prints on real photo paper, and no booking needed. A screen that only texts you a file is not a photo booth.

Best time to go

Weeknights and early evenings mean no line. Booths inside bars follow the bar’s hours, so check before you drive.
